St Mary's, Bury St Edmunds

St Mary's Church, Bury St Edmunds

St. Mary's is the fourth biggest parish church in the UK and boasts the longest nave, largest window and the tomb of Queen Mary Tudor, who was nicknamed "Mary Rose" by her brother, Henry VIII.

Peter has recently retired as Director of Music at the church, having completed 32 years between 1983 and 2015.  He is currently working for the diocese helping choirs which need support.

The church has a fine four manual organ and a large all male choir.  Details of the choir and the organ can be found on: www.theburyguide.co.uk/stmaryschoir    Could your son be a  potential chorister?

Below is a picture of the choir.(Peter had a beard then)
